We are a conservation planning, policy and community design practice specializing in innovative conservation, resiliency and development approaches. This includes looking holistically at land stewardship and helping to design our environments to be responsive to the context. This means crafting community long range plans, designs, land use policies, and development approaches that support the health and resiliency the natural world. We work for landowners, developers, non-profits, and municipalities. Our main goal is to recognize and preserve the unique and priceless aspects about a place while charting a balanced and resilient future.

"As a planner, I personally have a lot of respect for the direction that Amie is taking with Cultivate. She is moving the thought process for development in a new direction, beyond traditional cookie cutter projects of the 1960's & 70's, which in many cases still exist today. She considers land conservation, cluster housing techniques, and the future "livability" of the community in the overall design. In today's environment, a responsible planner should consider sustainable use of resources, such as water and energy use efficiency. Amie and her team do this when they design a project."
"Amie so gets the place and the landscape. In addition to her big picture perspective, Amie can take a deep dive into the details, meticulously working through locations of roadways, lots, rain gardens, and view corridors. She solves grading challenges and understands the importance of minimizing cuts and fills and, hence, impacts to the land. She also appreciates the more subtle natural characteristics of a place, such as the beautiful hues of the willows during the fall. All of this helps inform how development should occur to achieve the special place we are looking to create long term."
"Over the years, Amie and her team at Cultivate have assisted me and my clients in meeting our goals for project approvals and development. Amie is very organized, highly responsive and a good listener. She is also a great collaborator and knows how to develop creative solutions. She interacts well with clients, agency staff, and the public, whether supporters or opponents, in a calm and effective way. That adds significant value to our work"
